Boyd out for Argos

The Toronto Argonauts' running game suffered a big blow with the news that Cory Boyd will miss some time with a knee injury.

Boyd suffered a knee injury in the first half of the Argos' Week Two loss to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and is expected to miss 2-3 weeks.

The second-year import, who finished second in the league in rushing last year, had an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury.

Boyd finished the game after being injured, rushing for just 14 yards.

Chad Kackert will fill in for Toronto while Boyd is out.

Argonauts head coach Jim Barker also said that linebacker Jason Pottinger is out for the year with an ACL injury. Pottinger, a non-import, will have surgery soon.
